SEO Tip of the Day – Tag Your Images
It is an SEO best practice to add the alt attribute to all your images (also known as the Image Alt Tag).
For example the alt attribute of the following image html code is “Seattle Skyline”
<img style=”margin: 10px;” title=”Seattle-Skyline” src=”http://www.sparkplugdigital.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/01/Seattle-Skyline.jpg” alt=”Seattle Skyline” width=”260″ height=”173″ />
This tag helps Google determine what the image is about and also provides clues about what the page is about. SEOMoz experiments have also found data that showed a good correlation between image alt tags and rankings.
